I think it’s time to name and shame the companies providing bad customer service and of course celebrate the good. Up first; a tale of bad customer service:
A while back, we ate at the Wimpy on Southend Seafront.
It wasn’t busy at all. There were plenty of tables free and hardly anyone ordering food, we wanted something quick to eat, so we sat down, decided what we wanted from the menu, then went and ordered. As you do.
A little while later one of our four food orders came out, quite some time after that another two of our four food orders came out.
About ten minutes after that (and naturally once the other three had finished eating) the last of our four orders came out.
We had been up to the counter to find out where the food was of course, the first time being told that they had forgotten make it, so it will just be a couple of minutes and then when we had, had enough and went to cancel it, they suddenly appeard with the plate of food and because we didn’t have time to faff about anymore, we ate it.
As we were leaving… I quickly took this picture. No it wasn’t posed, it’s just that the entire staff are standing around chatting at the counter instead of serving the few customers that they actually had in the place. If you work at Wimpy on Southend Seafront, you should be ashamed of yourself.
So, tell me, have you eaten there – who have you had bad customer service from recently.

As a critic of bad customer service, you might enjoy this little prank I made recently. I called my credit card's customer service line to do some "negotiating." Having a bit of leverage, I thought it presented a great opportunity to mess with them a little without fear of retribution. I made a video of the call and posted it on my blog along with my comments about what happened and a fuller "director's cut" transcript. Pay attention to his response to the classic line "Why does Bank of America hate Christmas?" Enjoy. http://www.ragingwisdom.com/?p=508
Thanks for your comment and sharing your video – what a great protest!
